About the Event

This afternoon social (including cocktails and hors d'oeuvres) will take place on the stage of the historic and beautiful Carpenter Theatre. Guest speaker Joye B. Moore (business owner + producer + entertainer + motivator + influencer + advocate for mental health wellness) featuring an inspiring discussion to "Keep Moving!"... no matter how things look or how they feel. Joye will be joined on stage by esteemed panelists: Sheila E. BattleChelsea Buyalos, and Desirée Dabney.

Joye launched JOYEBELLS Desserts in 2019, spreading love and joy and bringing family and friends together with comfort food! Legacy recipes were passed from Joye's 3rd great-grandmother, Susan Mae Howell, making Joye and her family the 6th generation to bake these recipes and the 1st generation to turn these traditions into a business! Her award-winning sweet potato pie was featured on The Today Show in 2019 and voted 2023 Best Pie in the Nation by the American Pie Council.

Hosted by RPAA's Women's Leadership Council, this annual event helps RPAA extend its networks and make new connections in the community that further its commitment to diverse programming, arts education, and the preservation of historic venues. Proceeds benefit the BrightLights Education Initiatives of RPAA.
