ADOLPHUS HAILSTORK Fanfare on Amazing Grace
PRICE Piano Concerto (in one movement)
DVORAK Symphony No. 9 "From the New World"

This is music that captures the energy, the exuberance, the promise of a great nation. Music Director Valentia Peleggi conducts Dvorak’s love-letter to America, the “New World” Symphony. Plus, works by two of music’s foremost Black composers: Adolphus Hailstork’s Fanfare on Amazing Grace lifts our spirit – and celebrates his 80th birthday. Then Louis Schwizgebel performs music of pioneer Florence Price, her one-movement Piano Concerto.

Free pre-concert talk for all at 7pm on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday.

COVID-19 Policies

ASM Richmond is committed to the health and safety of our patrons, guests, artists, performers, crew, and staff and we will continue to follow the latest health guidance and protocols. In light of the changing conditions with COVID-19 and the Delta variant, we are working closely with all of our promoters to ensure the health and safety of our patrons, staff, and guests.

Currently, Dominion Energy Center is operating at 100% capacity and is strongly encouraging all patrons, whether vaccinated or not, to mask while at the venue. We do not have a vaccination or negative test requirement in place as a venue, although promoters of our upcoming shows are considering multiple options, including the possibility of masks, vaccines, and COVID-19 tests.

At this time, this show does have any additional requirements in place for patrons outside of the standing venue policies:

  • Audiences will show proof of vaccination with photo id at the door upon entry – we will keep everything moving swiftly so you can enjoy your show!
  • Anyone unvaccinated, such as children, need only present a negative COVID test taken up to 72 hours before performance with a photo id.
  • Masks will be provided free to anyone without one upon entering.
  • While masks need to be worn while seated during the performance, they can be removed to eat and drink in the lobby before the concert and during intermission.
  • If you miss a Masterworks concert because you aren't feeling well, or have chosen to stay home, you will have access to an online stream of the concert beginning the following week.
  • Dominion Energy Center will continue to provide enhanced cleaning and sanitation as part of their VenueShield program.

If there are any changes to the requirements prior to the show, patrons will be notified by email and the event page on the venue website will be updated.
